If you are trying to debug a Visual Studio.Net SharePoint solution and you are getting an error message that one or more features cannot be activated on the server because it doesn’t exist, there is a simple solution and you are not going to like it.
If you are not developing on a stand-alone server, it will not work. You must have a farm solution in which all the servers are there on the same server. If your SQL Server or another Front End Server on another commputer, you cannot debug your solution through Visual Studio .Net
Been there – tried that – that’s the only way it will work.
