Ok, so, you’re working along, developing in your SharePoint application and all of a sudden, you need to know the name of the SQL Server with which your SharePoint site is associated. But – you just can’t remember off the top of your head.
Take a deep breath. It’s very easy. Just go to your Central Administration page and click on ‘System Settings’. Look for the link that says “Manage servers in this farm“. Click on that link and you can find the server name.
Then, under “Application Management” in Central Administration, there is a link called “Manage content databases“.
