I was finding myself creating multiple projects which had the same basic core in Visual Studio, so I decided I needed to save my ‘core’ as a template. Not remembering exactly where that option was, I started searching on the web and was reminded that under the file menu, there is ‘Export Template’ item just for this.
So, I went to my File menu, and low and behold, it wasn’t there. There were a lot of articles I found concerning it being disabled, but it took a long time to find something regarding it not being there at all.
I don’t really know why it wasn’t there, but here are the steps I followed to get it back on the menu:
Voila – the world was now settled again – it now appears in my File menu (and, of course, it works!). By the way, I’m using Visual Studio 2010, but it also works in 2008.
