If you’ve forgotten how to do this and then searched the net to try to find out how to do it, you might have gotten frustrated since most of the examples on the net show you how to do it in Powershell.
It’s so easy, you’ll probably want to kick yourself for forgetting this. Just go to Site Actions/Site Permissions and click on the group you want to rename.
There are 3 dropdowns at the top of the list. Click on Settings and then Group Settings. Change the name in the ‘Name’ textbox – then everything’s fine!
