This was mentioned last year in another post, but I thought that it is important enough to live on as its own post.
You can easily create a ‘Shortcut’ of sorts, so that the SharePoint root is very close, without having to navigate down through the folders.
Of course, we all know, that in SharePoint 2010, the SharePoint root resides here:
c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14
If you want a quick way to get to this folder, you can Right-click on the taskbar, and click Toolbar/New Toolbar. Then, navigate to the above path. Lastly, choose the ‘Select Folder’ item. Now, you can easily navigate to and through this folder, straight from the taskbar on the bottom right of your desktop.
